All of the donations that Tampon Tuesday receives go directly to local food banks. Learn more below.

The London Food Bank

london-food-bankWe all know the feeling of casual hunger, when you’d like something to eat and it’s an hour until your next meal. Food banks are there for those difficult times when there’s no food at home and it’s days or weeks until your next cheque.

The London Food Bank has been helping people since 1986. Last year they helped more than 2,500 families per month. Of the $2 million worth of food they distributed, more than a third (41%) went to feed children and youth. 53% of the London Food Bank’s clients are women who are leading households. Therefore an estimated 3900 females require this product on a monthly basis. Other agencies that utilize the London Food Bank also have access to the feminine hygiene products that are donated through TAMPON TUESDAY.

Daily Bread Food Bank

dailybreadfoodDaily Bread Food Bank is a non-profit, charitable organization that is fighting to end hunger in our communities. As Canada’s largest food bank, Daily Bread serves people through neighbourhood food banks and meal programs in approximately 170 member agencies. Your donations and support are vital to ensuring we can provide food and resources to the thousands of individuals and families across Toronto who rely on us every day.

Daily Bread Food Bank relies on the generosity of individuals and families, community groups, employee groups, events, corporations and foundations. Your support helps us secure nutritious food and get it to those who need it most. It helps us provide public education on the root causes and effects of poverty and advocate on behalf of those in need in other critical areas of their lives.

It is with the support of our communities that we are able to provide much-needed programs and services to thousands monthly through our network of member agencies. Your participation and support is critical in our fight to end hunger.
